Autonomy

Participation in social life, living independently and being able to decide on one’s own life are fundamental rights that should be guaranteed to everyone. Being autonomous for people with Down syndrome means gaining their own space while growing up and being able to build their own future as young people and adults, such as being able to use public transport themselves, living alone or as a couple, working and having an income to support themselves. Every person has the right to a fulfilling full life, starting with equal rights and opportunities, in all collective and social spheres.
